While you're out cleaning the leaves off your deck, check your patio furniture to see if it needs to be brought inside to protect it during the cold winter months.

If  left out all year round, wicker patio furniture will  have a lot more wear and tear on the appearance.

Wood can also stay out, but you don't want to cover it because that can trap moisture underneath and may lead to mold and mildew on your furniture.

You want to bring in anything made of wicker, steel, fabric or natural stone.

Wicker and natural stone will expand and contract damaging the material and steel products tend to rust.

Before you store your wicker furniture for winter, you should clean it. Water and a mild detergent will work. Use a hose to wash it off not a power sprayer. Then, you'll want to repeat this process in the spring.
